Friday September 22 (9:22) is the return of the Libra Sun. The Zodiac sign of Virgo is the star of this week with two planets entering its service-oriented landscape and one planet leaving it. Neptune is also big on this week’s radar because it’s scheduled to come under attack from two different directions. Venus kick off the show when it enters Virgo on Tuesday, September 19. Although Venus in Virgo is very down to Earth and sensible, this is because Virgo cares about useful and purposeful more than about being romantic. The other reason is that, because Venus in Virgo’s goal is perfection, this is a time when we can be critical, worrisome, and hard to please. The upside is that Venus in Virgo makes us want to display a pure beauty with a perfect figure, so this is a good to hit the gym or get a facial. The Virgo New Moon on Wednesday, September 20, signals that the next two weeks are prime time for initiating a detox, making healthier life choices (energetically and physically), and creating a more satisfying work environment. On Friday, September 22, the Sun leaves Virgo and enters Libra.
This movement creates the third seasonal marker in the calendar year, the first day of Fall. Also referred to as the Autumnal Equinox, the first day of fall is one of two days a year when the hours of night and day are equal. Libra is the sign of the Scales, and this is a good day to take stock of your life to see if your personal scales are balanced. That might be harder than you think because changeable and hard to read Neptune is scheduled for two oppositions this week that could throw you off your game. The first comes on Tuesday, with an opposition to Mercury that creates a confusing brain-fog. Because Mercury-Neptune oppositions are known to be times when you miss important details, your best defense is to try to be as clear and honest as possible in all your communications. The other hit on Neptune comes from Mars on Sunday, September 24, and is just as tricky. The best part about this Mars-Neptune opposition is that it’s a one-off, but the flip side is that it acts like a mirror for deceptions and hidden agendas. One of the best ways to deal with this is to pay attention to the subliminal messages that you been sending to yourself via dreams or intuitions.*
☽︎→♏︎ Moon in Scorpio: Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto. Mars’ influence brings out strong passions and Pluto shows very strong desires. People often become aggressive, critical, impatient, and moody while Moon is in Scorpio. There is a marked increase of intensity and heightened sensitivity to personal offenses and insults.
Remember that Scorpio has a suspicious and secretive nature. Avoid social complications. Beware of jealousy and watch out for the Scorpion sting. Please remember to forgive and forget. Be cautious interacting with the opposite sex. However, this could be a good time for an intense merging with another on a deep emotional level!
Scorpio rules the generative system and the organs of reproduction as well as the lower spine (sacrum) in which the Kundalini energy is coiled. The Moon in Scorpio is a very bad time for surgical operations of any kind.
☽︎☌ Moon conjunct Jupiter: People are sympathetic and generous. There is concern with the social welfare. The conjunction brings good health and optimism. People might feel an inner need for change.
☽︎☍ Moon opposite Uranus: Disruptions. Obsessions with the unusual and unconventional. Independence is so prominent that communicative contact with others is difficult. People are restless, irritable, and stubborn. We might be prone to accidents.
△Mercury trine Pluto: Trine is the most harmonious aspect. In most cases, it joins planets in congenial signs of the same element. These energies combine with ease. The drawback is the lack of challenge-getting benefits without effort.
Mercury (Hermes in Greek Mythology) is known as the “Messenger of the Gods”. Mercury represents the mind- the link between spirit and matter, between soul and personality. Mercury symbolizes the power of communication and interpretation: intelligence, reasoning capacities, and the ability to perceive relationships and gather facts. Mercurial qualities include being adaptable, intellectual, attentive, perceptive, clever, versatile, inconsistent, hypocritical, argumentative, sarcastic, cynical, excitable, impressionable, nervous or prone to worry. Mercury narrates, talks argues, debates, writes, analyzes, memorizes, studies, travels, sells, reflects, and expresses itself through the hands as well as the tongue.
Mercury is of neither positive nor negative polarity-neither masculine nor feminine. Mercury rules all communications. It is associated with speaking and writing, educational capacities, and manual skills. Mercury is essentially active in the versatile, talkative sign of Gemini. Mercury’s nature is also strengthened in a analytical Virgo. Pure Mercurial expression becomes difficult in Sagittarius and in Pisces, which relate and communicate more through hopes and beliefs than through facts. The symbol for Mercury, , is the crescent, the circle and cross. It marks the receptivity of the soul through the exaltation of the spirit over matter.
Pluto can be considered the higher octave of Mars. It is named after the god of Hades. It was discovered in 1930 and although is not considered a planet now in 2017, the celestial pull still exists. Pluto represents those elements which have not yet been integrated into the collective consciousness. It has an eccentric orbit which crosses Neptune’s, making it closer to the Sun than Neptune. This last happened from January 1979 through March 1999, with Pluto at perihelion, the point of orbit closet to the Sun, in 1989. Also, while seven of the eight planets have orbits within 3° of the ecliptic, Pluto has a very sharp tilt of 17° . Pluto’s unusual orbit shows that it is not yet in tune with the rest of our solar system. This also suggests Pluto might be a recent addition to our solar system or an ex-satellite of Neptune.
Pluto represents the urge to transform, to regenerate-bringing rebirth. It is a symbol of decay, contamination, infection, destruction, desire, obsession, disintegration, and elimination, but is also a symbol of a cleansing, healing catharsis.
☉→♎︎ Sun in Libra: Libra being positive and cardinal, is active and aggressive. However, Libra has been called the “iron hand in the velvet glove” because its aggressiveness is not usually obvious. This mode of expression combines with the flowing communicative and intelligence of the air signs. Libra is like its complement, Aries, but now the “me first” energy is searching for balance. The glyph of Libra is symbolic of the setting Sun, expressing the balance between night and day, between self and others. While Libra is considered to have a positive polarity(yang), it is ruled by negative (yin) Venus, the receptive planet of charm and indecisive. They easily see the value of each point of view other because they do not hold a definite opinion of their own. In their search for balance, Libras strive to show both sides-sometimes for arguments sake only. Usually they are easygoing, diplomatic, idealistic, romantic, and have a very refined appearance. On the other hand, Libras can be gullible, frivolous, and flirtatious.
☽︎Moon sextile Venus: Generally similar to the conjunction, but more pronounced. Personalities mellow. Dispositions are pleasant. There is an increased interest in the arts.
