Reiki and Frequency Healing Sessions In The Comfort Of Your Home

Reiki and Frequency Healing Sessions In The Comfort Of Your Home

“A healer’s power stems not from any special ability, but from maintaining the courage and awareness to embody and express the universal healing power that every human being naturally possesses.”
― Eric Micha’el Leventha

I know that inside each of us is the power and ability to help alleviate the weight we carry.

I have been there, in the darkest times of my own shadow, barely able to recognize myself, letting people who truly loved me slip through the cracks. I also knew my light could help me. I could feel it still there before I decided to choose to live in lower energy frequencies. I remember the exact moment that I was full of source energy and that same energy which created every single conscious and unconscious element around me, was available to me. I stepped back into the light. I am not going to tell you it was hard because it wasn’t.

The hardest part was living in the despair and fear of constantly giving my power away. Thinking someone else was ever in charge of my emotions was constantly keeping me in a creepy limbo state of mind, wrought with terrible things continuing to happen. I had given up long ago as a young child looking outside of myself for comfort from others. I could fall asleep soundly by simply releasing all my cares and reassuring myself, ” It’s going to be OK.” And you know what!? IT ALWAYS WAS.

I am not here to try and fix you but I am here to guide you along the way to helping  feel happier in your skin. I believe our DNA is coded with light to heal and sometimes having someone understanding of these frequencies  in your time of need, is the most healing feeling of all. I am here to help you, as you heal, I heal, and Humanity Heals. It starts with you!

This is why I offer in home personal Reiki and Frequency sessions. Each session includes a 60 minutes of Reiki therapy with sound frequency healing, a sacred space clearing, intuitive tarot guidance, buffalo drumming, special meditation and affirmation, and crystal and plant companions for you to keep.

Utilizing intensive sound healing along with the aid of specific crystals for your intention to clear your home, I clear each space with Sacred herbs, Agua Florida, Sage, and Offerings. Before I arrive at your home we will go over in detail what you know about your home and the current state of affairs. I have assisted in many clearings and blessings and regularly clear my home as well.

Drum therapy is an ancient approach that uses rhythm to promote healing and self-expression. From the shamans of Mongolia to the Minianka healers of West Africa, therapeutic rhythm techniques have been used for thousands of years to create and maintain physical, mental, and spiritual health. I bring my personal ancestry from France and the Muguzawa tribe of Africa.

Each session begins with the intention of being an open channel for the highest healing you need at the time. It is best to allot a total time of 90 minutes for the entirety of your session. Send me an email and lets discuss your availability.

If all we have is hope and hope is all we need.

Living Out Of A Book: My Fairy Tale Home In The Wilderness

Living Out Of A Book: My Fairy Tale Home In The Wilderness

I used to live in a house that was literally something out of a book, but for real, you can buy the book here and the passive solar house he speaks of, is the one he built in the high hills of the Cohutta Wilderness. This place was my home for a short time and has been a major impact on how I have continued to live here in Colorado. Sit back and grab some tea because I used to live in a fairy tale.

Order and Balance are the Law of the Cosmos, Follow and he shall be one with the All. #emerald tablets

This was my view each morning when I woke up for about 16 months.  There is so much I could say about this house and how it changed me but honestly, I feel like I really came into myself. So let’s start off with the magic beginnings of how this little slice of off grid heaven came into my path.

I was working at a small town restaurant and living at the foot of the Cherokee National Forest when a friend sent me a message asking if I was looking for some where to move. I never spoke to him about it, but I did put out into the universe that the right house would find us! Sure enough his exact words were, “I think fate wants you to live in North Georgia.”  We made plans to come down and see the place which was a 40 minute drive south. That week we were traveling 12 hours north to attend The Electric Forest Festival in Michigan. Little did I know this was our surprise engagement trip as well!

You can read that whole story here!

We decided we wanted to check the place out BEFORE driving to Michigan. We made the quick drive to check the place out briefly and think on it while we were on vacation.  We drove back into the Georgia wilderness, 15 minutes from the nearest store, down long windy roads. Roads that were paved over the Trail of Tears. I saw the sign for the Red Clay National Park and knew we had to be close.

We pulled up to the top of a hill and there we saw it.

Is that a boat?

What looked like an upside down boat was a huge hand built work of sacred art. We loved it and we told them we would move in as soon as we were back from Michigan.  Now it off to celebrate. Remember, I had no idea I was getting engaged but I knew something was up! I had a feeling the week could not get any better and I already knew it was going to be amazing.

Off to Michigan we went! We were backstage and engaged! Now the en’rage’ment party began.

So being on the extreme high that comes from dancing your ass off and getting engaged to the love of your life really sets you on a path to be in the flow of prosperity.  We came back to TN elated for what the future would hold for us. We had no idea what we were in store for.

We came to the Red House and met the owner. David built the home back in 1980’s because someone told him he could not build a passive solar efficient house in the hills of the Cohutta so he did. He did it with such spiritual intent that you could literally feel the protection. I never wanted to leave. For the most part I didn’t!

Every inch, every detail, every piece of stained glass was meant to be there. He built it to where there was a silent meditation space in the center of the house in between the closets but above the stairs. The sun would rise into the triangle stained glass and prisms would shoot everywhere. The windows! OH THE WINDOWS!!!!

The windows laid out to catch all the warmth of the day. Passive Solar Energy for the win!

He told us of his love of the house and how it was only ever him and his wife. We would be the first family with a child to come into this space. That was magical. Little did we know 4 weeks later I would find out we were being graced with another spirit.  The day we moved David gave me the book he had written called, There is A Tomorrow which I read in two days. I highly suggest if you are having a hard time with the current state of the country/the world to read this book and open yourself up to a different frequency. David’s wife was a magical woman who was a high priestess in ancient Egyptian magic.  She built a huge crystal altar next to a 200 year old tree and I could feel her energy every where, especially around the crystal altar. I knew this was her sacred space. It became such a strong hold for me and saw so many rituals.

Clear Quartz Crystal Altar

Here is where I really dove into myself. This is where I started my esoteric studies in The Emerald Tablets, Nikola Tesla, Tarot, Herbalism, Shamanism, Crystal Healing, and really  went head first into my Reiki therapy.  I also found out I was pregnant with my second child and became very empowered to have a natural home birth.

I told my friends I was really connecting to Mother Nature. Living in this space with an orchard, passive solar energy, giant black snakes that called the place home, all of it was a great release for me. We were so much in nature that I even found a snake in my dresser drawer one day! Talk about freaking the F out! I lived in it! It wasn’t just some trip into the river and you see a snake run away, It was a god damn snake in my house. Not just on one occasion. There were at least 5 times when we had to get snakes out of the house. Medicine from mama!

We loved this space and in turn we wanted to give back to David once we were gone. So we built many regenerative garden beds, secured the balcony for the little ones, painted the entire place, and gave all the love we could to each other and the radical group of neighbors that lived around the hill with us.

Our sassafras tree starting to turn her leaves!!! The dog days are heading out and the cool rejuvenation of autumn is in our midst. The exploration of new beginnings is in full swing! It will be bittersweet to leave our little gypsy hut but I will bask in the beauty of a South eastern fall once more??????

Through that time we always had our plans to move to Colorado. First it was going to be after our little sunshine was born. Then it turned into after the wedding. But as the gypsys souls we have come from, we decided to drive hours to a festival, celebrate with our closest friends, and then move across the country.

Brian Hensley Photography: Murphy Hulawedding: Suwannee Hulaween 2015

It was bittersweet to move away from all the work we had put into making this little slice of heaven our own. So when it was time to come to Colorado, I knew that’s where my work would really begin.

Little home for the fairies????????

Here we are. Living a dream that we created in the Rocky Mountains. I do miss our gypsy hut and all the memories we made there will stay with me forever. Today I carry on this knowledge of all the wonderful gifts I gained out in the wilderness for a year and a half. I hope to build our own passive solar efficient house here one day or maybe I can get David to collaborate on a special hempcrete one! Hey a girl can dream!

Self Love Sanctuary: Sadhana with Ritual Radiance

Self Love Sanctuary: Sadhana with Ritual Radiance
I met Loren through Instagram when we both lived 1300 miles away from each other. I had not been draw to yoga in a dedicated form until I met this beauty. She basically had me experience something I had been looking for in regular yoga classes. I just could not separate myself from the electromagnetic charge of the computer to really get into flow of my own.The classes I had been to were not the ideal setting to really go within. I was angry and irritated with myself. I was about to swear off yoga once and for all.

Then Loren and I found ourselves less than 5 miles apart living in the same city less than a year after we met. She told me about Kundalini Yoga and how she was struggling with finding something that spoke to her soul as well. The chants, the mantras, the extended periods of weird arm movements; I literally fell in love again with yoga since the first time I took a class in Knoxville Tennessee.

Loren developed a specific Sadhana, a daily practice, for me after an in depth questionnaire about what I was dealing with in my waking reality. Loren opened my heart and eyes to the most powerful prosperity I have ever known, and I tested it out for real! I quit doing all my practices for two whole weeks and literally everything changed again. These practices WORK and Loren is truly a divine shining pillar of light. How important is a Daily practice? Extremely. It doesn’t have to be Kundalini, but You deserve to enrich your life with ancient sound codes and charge your energy field with practices that embody Self Love. Read my interview below with the ethereal Loren of Ritual Radiance.

TSH: What would you suggest to women who are to think they are busy to devote time to a daily practice?
LC:I suggest rethinking your idea of a daily practice! Shifting your perspective on what a daily practice is will open up the possibility for practice in every and any moment. Many of us get caught up in the idea that our daily practice has to be a long, complex, esoteric situation but it really doesn’t! I find it hard to believe anyone who tells me that they can’t create five minutes of time in the day to practice. Once you create those five minutes for yourself, just spend it breathing long and deep. Or sit peacefully and chant a single mantra. It can be that easy, as long as you let it be. Of course, you can also do more complex practices, but start small and build from there! We just have to get out of our own way every once and a while and see how simple it can be.
TSH: What would be your desert island tool kit if you only had to meditate all day?
LC: An island dedicated solely to just making your practice more enriched.
I love the idea of this island! I would bring…
+a ton of living spring water
+a meditation cushion — my hips would hate me otherwise!
+mantra music (particularly tunes by White Sun, Nirinjan Kaur, Nirinjan Kaur Khalsa, Snatam Kaur, Mirabai Ceiba, Singh Kaur, and Alexia Chellun — look these gorgeous artists up if you aren’t familiar with them!)
+Living Tea — for tea ceremony
+sunscreen and my Frankincense Beauty Balm to cover all skincare needs!
TSH: What is the greatest reward you have gotten from your sadhana?
I have come home to myself. My true self, my infinite self. Most of my life was spent pretending to be someone else out of fear and longing to belong. Through my Sadhana, I was shown the path back to who I truly am. Embodying myself in this way has made me more radiant, more successful, and more happy!
TSH: I started my daily practice with help and guidance from you, what would you say to someone who wants to start but doesn’t know where to begin?
LC: Start right now. In this moment: close your eyes, and breathe long and deep for three minutes. Open your eyes, go about your day. Voila, you’ve completed your daily practice in under five minutes! I say this because we often make grand, sweeping statements about our desire or intention to create a daily practice. But then, in our day to day life, we don’t actually act on that desire. If you are feeling inspired to start a daily practice, start it right now while you have the energy and motivation! It also helps to keep it simple and short in the beginning. My daily practice is a twenty minute recitation of a Gurmukhi poem, but I would almost never give a client that practice
to start with. I think that pranayam (breathwork) exercises are great because they’re accessible, the effects are experienced immediately, and you can do them while laying in bed, in the bathroom, driving in the car, flying on an airplane, cooking, showering, etc. Don’t place blocks in your path!
If you’re looking for an accessible, convenient tool for creating a new daily practice, I just
launched The Sacred Self Care Journal. It’s a by-donation resource that has over 30 Kundalini Yoga practices (a new one for each day of the lunar cycle!), daily writing exercises, monthly and weekly check-ins, and a special page for both the New Moon and Full Moon! You can find it on
my website. I’ve use it daily and it’s blowing my mind how powerful
these small practices can be!
What do you want to give back or put out into the universe by teaching Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga, in my opinion, is the most effective technology we have today to face the
challenges of our world — which are many. We are living in a very interesting time, but I feel we
incarnated here with a specific purpose. Part of my own purpose, because it is layered and complex, is to stand under these teachings and share them so that others may be elevated.
Yogi Bhajan said that, as a Teacher of Kundalini Yoga, your students should be at least ten
times greater than you. In my sharing this lineage, I aim to co-create a community of people who are fully expressed, fully embodied, grounded, loving beings. I see so many communities today that are created around the idea of “My life is so wonderful, so you should follow me and like me and invest in me to become like me.”
I’m excited that I’m creating a community that honors each person as their own uniquely beautiful medicine and encourages them to invest in and be themselves.
We are all so gorgeous in our diversity! I love giving people the tools to be guided back to their own truth and their own medicine, allowing them to activate a radiance from within that is unlike any other.
TSH: Can you share a meditation that anyone can say to help increase their self love whenever the feel like it may be lower than usual?
LC: Simply chant the mantra I am bountiful, blissful, beautiful. Bountiful, blissful, beautiful am I. Allow the mantra to cut through and replace the destructive thought/behavior pattern. What’s your advice when starting a sadhana? Should women take it slow or dive in head first for an hour plus?
Everyone is different in what they can handle right off the bat. I would suggest starting small but with determination and grit. If you can’t do three minutes of daily practice, you’re not going to magically find the time, space, and grace to do an hour of daily practice out of nowhere. You have to build that energy! So start small and build up. When I first began practicing, I did a three minute meditation for about three months before increasing my time or changing my practice.
And yet, I only want to encourage anyone who is excited about longer practices! Just remember not to fall into guilt consciousness if you aren’t able to do the full practice daily. Life is life! And life is the real practice.
TSH: Have you developed more Self Love since you started your sadhana?
LC: In some ways, it feels like I developed ALL of my self-love since I started my Sadhana. Before I began practicing Kundalini Yoga, I had horrible acne, anxiety, confusion about my path in life… I didn’t believe in myself, love myself, or think I was worth anyone’s time. It all sounds so dramatic written out, but I think many of us are living life in the same way, not even realizing how much more rich, expansive, light, and joyful our lives can be.

Loren Teaches Classes Every Thursday at Urban Sanctuary Denver and you can follow along with Loren on her Instagram Ritual Radiance. You can also find Loren leading The Green Lodge Gatherings in Boulder May 22 and June 26! Request Tickets Here. Now Go give your Self Some LOVE!!!!

I came to back to understanding that part of having Self Love is really accepting that NOT EVERYTHING IS FOR YOU. No matter what anyone tells you, You have to make this decision to love yourself with the intention to do it in YOUR own truth. No ONE can tell you that their truth is your truth! Maybe Yoga, Hiking, Meditation, Cannabis, whatever really did heal them BUT whenever you do not release the EMOTIONAL THOUGHT PATTERN that created dis-ease in the physical body in the first place, you can never truly heal.   I love Kundalni because I can feel the words radiate through my being.

Cannabis Is Bringing Together A New Sisterhood In Boulder

Cannabis Is Bringing Together A New Sisterhood In Boulder

At least 158 Million people worldwide use Cannabis for medicinal, recreational, and spiritual purposes. This number increases daily as more people understand the power of this plant, and women in Colorado are coming together to prove they also can benefit from the community it brings.

Entrepreneur and hierophant that Cannabis can help woman dissolve “the competition complex,” Maggie Murphy of Colorado, also known as The Stoned Housewife, is blazing this path with The Green Lodge Goddess Gathering.

Once each month, with dates currently scheduled through June 2017 at the Vali Soul Sanctuary in Boulder, healers from all over the world are invited to enrich the lives of the women at the Green Lodge Goddess Gatherings. The theme, though always centered around indigenous Earth Medicine, changes each month, so ladies are encouraged to attend as many as possible to build upon previous teachings. While the theme may change, Maggie insists that one thing is for certain,

“Participants can expect that Loren, the house Kundalini instructor, will push them and enhance their moon flow by giving them specific sound currents and mantras to open up the neural pathways and promote healing.”

Regular attendee, Danielle Webster shared her thoughts about the most recent gathering,

“I have to say, smoking indoors in a public space is really cool. It’s even cooler to do this in a space with a bunch of other lady stoners who are coming together to use cannabis in a thoughtful and lackadaisical way. It’s not just about getting stoned, it’s about connecting through the use of cannabis to relax everyone and make them more comfortable in the environment. “

Through the Stoned Housewife brand, Maggie, is continuing to expand this community with partnerships for future lodges in California, Arizona, and Nevada.

“I love to create a space where women can come together and try new aspects of healing on multiple levels, and where each individual feels like her being there contributes to everyone,” Maggie explained. As one of the most affordable Cannabis friendly workshops in the area, they also aim to give back as much as possible to the women. “There is a gift exchange at the end of each event, and every woman walks away with a newly blessed treasure. Sometimes a simple gift of the intention to make someone else happy is the most healing someone can get that day.”

When asked what her vision for the future of the Green Lodge is, Maggie explains,

“I want to continue this growing tribe of women and have lodges all around the world, Cannabis is a small but integral part of women coming together in a unifying setting. There is no need for the ego because we all come with the intention to be a community.”

Recapping the last Green Lodge, Danielle said, “We were all together chanting, moving, and holding our bodies. Loren (the lodge Kundalini Yoga instructor) pushed us as we did forms of yoga ‘exercises’ we’ve never done before, and as a team we all learned how hard it is to sit still. Certain chants made us laugh together, others made us cry, but overall we all felt 100% more connected than when we had began the gathering. ”

Future dates for the lodge include April 24th, May 22nd, June 26th.

Participants also have the opportunity to win prizes from Sponsors Stashlogix and LoveandMarij. These events are INVITATION ONLY. Click here to request yours today. Treat Yourself to a Cannabis Spa Experience At Home

Treat Yourself to a Cannabis Spa Experience At Home

More women are using cannabis to enhance their beauty routine with night creams and bath bombs loaded with THC or CBD. Since you can’t legally toke up in a spa yet, I wanted to do a little in home experiment combining cannabis and crystals to make my own Stoned Spa experience.

Not many people dispute the medicinal properties of cannabis, but Crystal Healing still has some convincing to do on a national level. Crystals have a high rate of vibration so they are utilized widely in modern technology. There are liquid crystal diodes in calculators and the very phone you may be reading this on. They also are used in credit cards, fiber-optic phone lines, and laser technology. Crystals literally power our lives. If we could see the energy fields that make up each and everything, including us, we would all be carrying around crystals to protect and amplify our energy fields. Crystals have their own energy fields and the Crystal Kingdom began on earth before the plant kingdom, so they have a deeper healing property than we have yet to fully discover. Plus who doesn’t love feeling a little witchy?

Using cannabis topicals on your skin can deliver many anti aging benefits by combating wrinkles, fine lines, and dark spots. Cannabinoids, like CBD, are also known to have amazing anti inflammatory properties. Now you can bring your own spa into your bathroom by making a simple trip to the dispensary and your local metaphysical store. To get the full spa experience you will of course need candles and some crystals. To take it to the next level, I like to use a Malachite Bath Soak which charges the water with the healing properties of the crystals. Malachite is an extremely powerful metaphysical stone and is used for deep energy clearing. So if you have had, “one of those days” you are going to make this your new night-time ritual.

Dank Essence bath bombs. (Dank Essence photo)

Stoned Spa Experience supplies

  1. DIY Face Mask
  2. CBD Bath Bomb
  3. CBD Salve
  4. Joint or Bowl of your favorite strain

For the Face Mask:

  • 2 tsp. Activated Charcoal
  • 2 tsp. Tamanu Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Aloe Vera Gel from Plant or Organic from Store
  • 1 Tablespoon of finely ground cannabis flowers

For the Bath:

  • Dry Body Brush
  • Malachite Bath Soak
  • Heavenly Hash Bath By Mary Jane’s Medicinals
  • Bath Bomb of your choice (I love the CBD Lavender ones from Dank Essence)
  • A nicely rolled Joint, Blunt, Bowl

Time to relax

Mix the face mask ingredients into small bowl and stir until desired consistency is reached. Paint onto face avoiding eyes and hairline, letting mask dry while in the bath. Starting the bath water, add in the Malachite and Hash Bath satchel while the water is still running. While waiting for the bath to fill gently take the body brush and start gently dry brushing your skin.

Dry Brushing helps shed dead skin cells and encourages new cell renewal, leaving your skin more radiant as soon as you start brushing.

The Malachite will turn the water a mermaid green color. Step in and slowly start to dunk the bath bomb. I usually let it sit in my hand and float it around creating a circle. Then sit back and relax!

For an added healing element you can use a variety of mantras to dissolve blocks and let go of any unwanted tension. Being in a malachite bath is a PERFECT time to meditate and light up your joint! By now you are prob in a very relaxed state. If you are like me and enjoy mid afternoon baths, I would grab a sativa or sativa-dominant hybrid strain like Strawberry Cough, Durban Poison, Ghost Train Haze or Lambs Bread. Otherwise those night baths are a perfect pairing with an indica strain like Grand Daddy Purple, Violator Kush, G-13 or Bubba Kush. Once you are done with your smoke, gently lower your head into the bath soaking your hair and rubbing the charcoal and cannabis mask off. Keep a warm wash cloth next to you and gently wipe away any remaining pieces of the mask.

To complete your experience, pamper your body with almond oil or a CBD topical salve to give your skin that last little bit of glow. Store your extra mask, if any, in your fridge and use within 3 days.

Los Angeles + Venice: Where Love and Weed Rein Supreme

Los Angeles + Venice: Where Love and Weed Rein Supreme

Was it the 3 am alarm or the 1 am bedtime that left me more than surprisingly blissful for my trip to Los Angeles? I think it was everything being so synchronized the entire trip. I met amazing people and found lifelong sisters once again. Read all the way to the end to enter for a chance to win one of Two Stashlogix bags I am giving away!

Thanks to Stashlogix for making my trip the absolute easiest traveling packing I have ever experienced. Can I be the first to test out a Stashlogix Suitcase?!  Kickback and relax with me while I rock onto Electric Ave and then we’ll take it higher!

SUNDAY

My heart sank multiple times within the first two hours of walking out the front door, starting with walking out to my Lyft my 2 year old noticed I wasn’t in the bed, and started the sad middle of the night, “MAMA hold you!” cry (for any mom this is one of those times its hard to fight back the tears). The second was the moment I got my coffee after TSA Pre Check and realized I left the most important part of my trip being successful…MY BREAST PUMP attachment pieces. Breastfeeding is such a wonderful gift that can quickly feel like a curse when you are gorged out of your mind. Which can happen in good 8 hours of no contact. Target to the rescue!  Not only do I want to be extremely budget conscious on this trip, I am ALWAYS looking for a deal. when I saw I could get the accessory pack for less than $18 with a coupon from Honey, (this google chrome extension is a MUST have for the thrifty coupon code looking housewife) with in store pickup only a few miles from Venice, I eased back into my “let go and let it be” flow.

This is the first trip I have left my youngest for more than just a few hours  since she was 5 months old, It seems unreal to put that into words! So as I am sitting at the Airport waiting for my flight, listening to Bobs Burgers,  with my amazing Stashlogix bags( which are holding everything from my camera to makeup) this trip had officially begun.

The in flight wifi was a double edged sword on Southwest Airlines. The $8 price tag was not worth the hassle of how badly I wanted to catch up on The Magicians latest episode, but the Syfy channel did not work on the plane because they limit the streaming of certain sites…..so next time I am prob going to skip that and keep my 8 bucks while downloading whatever I want from Netflix. I did get to see the Grand Canyon from 40,000 feet so That was AWESOME!

Once I landed in Los Angeles if wasn’t until I walked into Abbot’s Habit, that I felt truly immersed beneath the palm tree lined streets and oddly cloudy weather I didn’t expect. (This come full circle with Mama Sailene, keep reading Its about to get SO REAL! )Abbot’s Habit is an amazing little place that has delicious soups, coffees, fresh juice, and bomb ass sandwiches.  I had the Bobo Chicken with a small Red Pepper soup. It turns out I was meeting a great friend and pioneer in the Venice community Tuesday morning named Mama Sailene. Who happened to be a well know host of very sought after events at this pregentrification Abbot Kinney coffee shop.

Sunday was my day to explore Venice, so I lugged my suitcase up and down Abbot Kinney Blvd until I was able to check into my AirBnb. I popped into a couple amazing stores including Mystic Journeys which felt like my home away from home. I seriously thought about getting a nap in on their couch beside the wind chimes but was pretty excited to see the sunset over the Pacific for the first time.

I didn’t think I was going to be able to eat much at my reservation for Cafe Gratitude at 1 that day by 12:30 I was really feeling tired, but I did and it was unreal as well.  Cafe Gratitude is a short walk from the shops at Abbot Kinney so  Of course as soon as I saw the pup friendly patio at CG I was wide awake. I love seeing the happiness and love that exudes from every dog especially when they can sense I am one of their kindred spirits. Dogs are totally one of my spirit animals. He was just like my bulldog refusing to fall game to the paps.

With small tapas all consciously titled under the massive I AM heading, the menu does not fall short. I had the I am Intuitive, a blend of sweet potatoes fries and purple potatoes with a spicy Chashew Aioli and Gremolata. Along with a digestive aid sparking water with essential oils of peppermint.

I checked into my AirBnb around 3pm to fully relax. This place was more magical than I anticipated and I was overwhelmed with being by myself for the first time. So honestly I took some time to cry and let my emotions flow through me.

I brought my small container of my moms ashes to bring her to the beach inspired by my pal Cole Peddie which is what he does with his brothers ashes. My mom moved to California in the early 70s with two kids and a suitcase. I can not imagine how she felt being in such a majestic place. As I walked down the Ocean Front Walk I could see the days long past, the artistry changing by the gentrification of Venice by the wealthy middle class that keeps happening in cycles every 20+ or so years. When I arrived at Ocean Front I did not expect to be greeted by the giant mural of Jim Morrison I had on my list to see but there he was smiling down welcoming me to his home from the past where he sat on the beach where him and Ray crossed paths to create one of the most legendary groups in rock and roll history. I’m talking about The Doors. Jim fell in love with Pam in these very streets, streets so filled with love it inspired great poetry.

I watched the sun set over the ocean while on the rooftop of the Hotel Erwin at High Rooftop Lounge.  This trip felt like such a weekend getaway and Monday, the cornerstone of the trip was approaching fast.

My night ended with a Nice Canna Company edibles and lounging on a luxurious red velvet couch designed from the 18th century and watching Bob’s Burgers. You can take the girl out the country but you can’t take her away from her comedic roots. Also this mama bear was asleep by 8PM.

MONDAY

Today was the big day! I had an entire day planned of exploring, Kundalini Yoga, and filming. I jumped out of the bed and treated myself to the first private and kid free morning I have had in A LONG ASS TIME! I was completely in my own energy and for someone who is surrounded all the time it was the perfect balance for awakening in this powerful place on the Spring Equinox of all days. Divine Timing is prob the Phrase of the Trip.

I walked down 0.9 miles from my Airbnb to the Rama Institute where the feminine energy of change has manifested and created a space by the powerful soul Guru Jagat.  My dear friend and Kundalini Yoga instructor for The Green Lodge, Loren, introduced me to practices that I was unfamiliar with and brought me back to enjoying Yoga and ultimately life on a new level. I had been to some Cannabis led yoga practices in Colorado and became so over stimulated by the downtown 10 am beating down and I could not enjoy or engage successfully in the practice. It was to much over stimulation of the pineal gland with the cannabis intake before.

When I began practicing Kundalini Yoga, there was a definite awareness of the extreme power in these practices.  Yogi Bhajan took the best from each branch of Yoga to provide the most effective healing imaginable. The healing force of the sound current is unimaginable and extremely beautiful when beings come together to heal together as a community.

Kundalini Yoga- Each class is comprised of a warm up, kriya, and meditation. A KRIYA is a set of postures, sound current, and breath work. MANTRA means sound current. It instills a sequencing that alters the functioning of the brain and body. MEDITATION in kundalini yoga is in essence a directing of energy. Unless specified, you are not expected to keep your mind blank. _From RAMA.com

I arrived at RAMA just before 9 o’clock and settled into the class led by Sat Purkh (Kelsey Stevens who was subbing for Guru Jagat while she was in Nicaragua for the Equinox). A small class of us were led through a balancing Kriya and at the end she played the enormous gong which made me feel like I was in outer space. The sounds of the universe were resonating through me and it was a great intensity.

I walked out of RAMA feeling so balanced and elevated. I headed back down Lincoln Blvd and stopped in The Flowerboy Project for a refresher and the entire store was something out of a book! I then walked down to The Mart Collective, which I easily killed an hour+of time exploring all the antique vendor booths.

I perused a little farther down the street to find The Venice Love Shack which I could not resist stopping in and talking to the etching artist Brinnin Broski where we had one of my favorites conversations of the entire trip. You know when you meet someone who is just in you Soul Family?! Brinnin is AMAZING and doing some tangible and powerful healing pieces. We exchanged gifts and parted ways after exploring the vintage furniture store.

When I arrived back at my AirBnb I quickly ran to get a shower to get ready for The Weed Show with Charlo Greene which was only a short drive into Los Angeles. Charlo invited me out a few weeks back to talk about Pregnancy and Cannabis consumption. This topic is still judged as Taboo in our culture and the mom shaming is completely unnecessary. She spoke of The CannaMama Clinic Doctor Rachel Knox who actively speaks and educates on the endocannabinoid system and how just because you become pregnant your body doesn’t stop gaining benefits from cannabinoids. You can see more with Dr Rachel here and You can see what we talked about here! Plus Indiana Jones, the studio dog kept us company between the blunts.

I am grateful for Charlo for creating such a powerful platform and being a shining light in this industry for education and empowerment for women. At the end of the show Tori the producer presented me a small gift bag with a bath bomb from Om Edibles, Uncle Dougie’s Knots, and some CBD salve made by the lunar phases from The Sisters Of The Valley, you know, the weed nuns! OMG! To top it off The Green Lodge is available to come to LA thanks to The Weed Show’s studio also being a co working space!

After the show aired Live on YouTube, Facebook, and I tunes, I headed back to Venice and was graced with one of my favorite past times, Food Truck Burritos. So delicious. This was the last night I was in town and Tuesday had even bigger surprises for me. So I soaked up that bath bomb and devoured those medicated sugared pretzels.

TUESDAY

Before I left for my trip I connected with a true soul sister who I have followed and admired for some time, the mastermind and goddess behind so many projects including The Ganja Goddess Getaway, Bliss Edibles and Extracts, but she is just such a powerful force in so may women’s lives remotely and in California. She set up a lunch date for me to meet the infamous Mama Sailene. I flipped out literally knowing I was going to meet another powerful soul sister!  Merry Janes article stated,

“Sailene is the owner of westside Los Angeles’ oldest and most iconic delivery service and has long been a key figure in the Venice community. Ironically, the delivery business, now well into its second decade, never had an official name. It was just The Girls or, to some, The Angels. The lack of a name didn’t matter. Everyone who needed to knew exactly who she was.

Like most of the trailblazers of her generation, she was forced to split her focus with a second demanding (and fully legal) career. In her case, it was in restaurant management and event planning. And, although there’s no real surprise there, she was great at it.

Her most visible run was at Abbot’s Habit, the original, pre-gentrification Abbot Kinney coffee shop where the cool Venice crowd started their day. For the lucky ones, however, the real fun took place at her parties. Invitations were highly coveted, and not just for the food (incredible) or the hand-rolled joints (plentiful).”

Without speaking to Sailene prior to this trip, I did not meet her until Tuesday, I was drawn to Abbots Habit and actually wrote that part of the blog while sitting in there!!!! Whoa! I knew the energy there was special and when Mama picked me up and I told her how much I loved it, her eyes filled with tears. Reassuring that this trip has been the healing I  needed.

Deus Es Machina Coffee

Sailene picked me up at Deus Es Machina and we headed Gjelina the BEST place to eat in Venice and where the likes of Beyonce, Reece Witherspoon, even Rihanna have graced.  It is the swankiest and as soon as we walked in I got to meet the chef and co-owner behind it all, Travis Jett. He was delightful! Our food included appetizers of

  • Tuscan Kale salad, Shaved Fennel, and Ricotta Salata
  • Japanese Sweet Potato, Jalapeno Yogurt, and Scallions
  • Wood Roasted Cauliflowers:Recipe

Mama had the Crispy Duck Comfit, Whitled Chicory, & Kumquat

While I indulged in a Gruyere, Caramelized Onion, Formage Blanc, and Arugula Pizza.

Of course we couldn’t leave without dessert. Warm Date Cake, Whiskey Caramel and Ginger Gelato Which I was thrilled to find the chefs own Recipe.

It got better. Gjusta is the swanky bakery also popping out delicious bites and goodies by Travis who just happened to be in the parking lot in the rain talking while we got there. There is such a warm and inviting presence surrounding Gjusta and when you walk inside it is a sweet tooth’s heaven! I had to eat at least one thing from here so I inhaled a Black Currant and Raisin Roll before parting ways with Sailene, doing a few more dabs, and catching my lyft to LAX.

Coming Home…Almost

When I arrived at LAX I was super early for my flight. Now here is where the only monkey wrench threw me into a complete panic tearful tailspin. By this time all I could think about was getting home. I missed the baby something awful and I know my sons eyes fill with a special light when he sees me. So just as I did before flying out with Southwest, I printed my boarding pass and headed to the gate. Here is where I knew something was up. Of course Frontier did not have anyone up at the podium until 10 minutes before the plane started to board and as a lot of people knew, Frontier never made you pay for your carry on if you didn’t pay for it when you bought your initial ticket. Now I have successfully flown as well as my husband, and with two children utilizing this policy that has not changed in over two years. Well they caught on apparently to the numerous people we had talked to as well who said they loved flying with Frontier for that exact reason of them not charging for a carry on.

As my zone is called to board I walk up and the lady says I need to go to the podium…I wasn’t sure why but I went and luckily I got the guy who hated his life that day and wouldn’t do his job as he was clearly not able to communicate morally with someone who just found out they wanted to charge $60 to bring my bag on. I had $25 dollars in my purse and no debit card on me. I freaked the fuck out honestly. I called my husband who was just like, “leave it.” ugh no. That was NOT an option. So I asked the man what would happen to my bag if I left it, does it go to unclaimed baggage or lost and found? His answer, “I don’t have anymore time for you.” So I smiled and said,”Thanks for being such a great help” and walked up to the boarding podium. With tears in my eyes and everything I could shove in  my purse, I didn’t care I just wanted to be home at this point, I looked at the lady and said I have to leave this here because I have never had to pay to bring it on until just now. Then the girl beside me with long blonde braids chimed in, ” I’ll pay for your bag.” If I wasn’t already emotional this was the cherry on top. She hugged me and said she had been in that exact same spot and wished someone could have done the same for her.

I boarded the flight with gratitude for my what comes my way and how no matter what I somehow know, it will all work out. I landed in Denver and made my way home with the smiling faces of my family when they arrived at the airport.

This trip was truly something I wished and manifested for 2017. I know more amazing opportunities are in line because every encounter I had while in Venice + LA made me grow, made me love, and made me even more appreciative to each soul I come in contact with and with the people who constantly support and uplift me.
